Why We Do What We Do
Growing Up Empty"Growing Up Empty : The Hunger Epidemic in America" by Loretta Schwartz-Nobel

This is a good resource for information and motivation into solving the problem of hunger in our world.

Pregnancy Center

The Basics
The New Life Pregnancy Center opened its doors in January 2010.  We have served over 300 families with parenting and pregnancy needs.   Our mission is to provide hope and care to those facing a pregnancy, planned or unplanned, through Christ-centered ministries.  Our goal is to see that every unborn baby, every child, every man and every woman is shown care, support, patience, kindness, and the love.  The center focuses on supporting families, providing them with support, encouragement, and the tools needed to provide care for their children.

What the Center Provides
The New Life Pregnancy Center provides a welcoming environment for those women and men expecting and/or already parenting infants and toddlers 0 to 24 months.

Our free services include material assistance, such as diapers, clothing, formula, and any other baby need a family may have.  We offer weekly pregnancy and parenting classes for families needing some support in caring for their children.  Moms and Dads that attend the classes learn a variety of topics that can include pregnancy and infant development, safety in the home, nurturing your child, healthy families, first aid knowledge, and parenting multiple children.

Our classes are taught by a volunteer who has background in child development and positive parenting skills.  Families can earn “mommy dollars” which provides them with more baby materials or supplies they may need, including bigger items such as cribs, car seats, and baby swings.

Families in the community can also come to the center for counseling, resources and referrals when expecting a child or already parenting.  We offer free pregnancy testing and can help a new mom get set up with a doctor’s appointment for prenatal care.  We provide information for resources in the community that can give a baby and their family a good start.  We continue to partner with other non-profit programs in the valley to increase the support available to the community.

Volunteers at the Center
Our center is run with the help of passionate and loving volunteers.  Our volunteers go through a 12 hour training which provides them with the tool and resources needed to help families in the community.   Our volunteers help with pregnancy testing, referrals and resource needs, and passing out baby clothes and diapers each day the center is opened. Thanks to our committed volunteers, we can continue to provide support to those families in need.
